Sun Sensitivity
Most people sunburn more easily during treatment.
Do not sunbathe or use artificial tanning parlors. Use a broad spectrum (UVA and UVB protection) sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher such as Neutrogena Ultra Sheer™, lip balm with SPF (see Dry lips below), sun protective clothing such as Solumbra® or Coolibar®, an umbrella while at the pool or beach, and avoid excessive sun exposure during peak sun hours of 10 A.M. to 3 P.M.
Sunburn treatment may include use of cool tap water compresses for 10 minutes a few times a day and aspirin (or if you are allergic to aspirin, Tylenol) in manufacturer-recommended doses. If your sunburn blisters, seek the care of your physician. Biafine® is a prescription topical emulsion that may help soothe and heal a sunburn.
